This summer a single rose sprung up from the rocky path next to our garage. It's small, fragile stem held a lone bud at the very tip. Overnight it bloomed from the size of a pinky nail, to a gorgeous flower the size of a hand. It stayed in full bloom for three days, and was much too picturesque.
