Plague

My latest creation. Made from tooling leather, hand sewn, painted with acrylics, and decorated with various gears. I am VERY happy with how this turned out.
The goggles in its face were originally welding goggles, but I accidently broke the glass on one. So instead, I put mesh over the eyes and it actually seems to work better! This way the goggles don't fog up, and air can get into the mask somehow. (Oxygen=good)
Oh yes, I hand-stitched the sides and top. Time-consuming but worth it!
Here's a fun fact for you: Plague Doctors (from the black plague era) wore masks like these and stuffed the noses with potpourri because they believed the plague was spread by smell! So...if you see the plague spreading, make sure to order yours quickly!
